A 2005 Bloom-Carroll High School graduate was killed in action in Iraq Saturday.

21-year-old U.S. Marine LCPL James Kimple was based out of Camp Pendleton, California.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bloom-Carroll Middle School and burial will follow in Greenfield Township Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the school.

Contributions can be made to a trust fund set up through Fifth Third Bank to help pay for the education of Kimple’s three children.
