Former Newark Mayor Frank Stare pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct Tuesday morning.
Stare was originally charged with solicitation, but prosecutors agreed to amend the charge so the 20-year-old victim didn’t have to testify.
Stare was accused of picking up the woman in downtown Newark on October 12th and giving her a ride home.
While he was transporting the woman, he reportedly asked her, ‘Do you play for money?”
The girl also accused Stare of trying to kiss her when she got out of his vehicle.
Stare admitted to giving the woman a ride, but he told authorities that all he did was give her a hug.
Stare was fined $50 for the minor misdemeanor.
