A former cop who was fired amid federal drug dealing charges that were later dropped has settled his grievance with the city of Zanesville.
33-year-old Donald Peterson was allowed to resign Thursday which will allow him to receive four months back pay and the city will remove records related to the January firing from his personnel file.
Peterson was one fo five people arrested by authorities on December 12th after he was accused of selling drugs he seized during traffic stops.
26-year-old Amanda Novaria of Roseville later admitted lying about Peterson and the other four people.
She has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the case.
Peterson had wanted his old job back but says his reputation in the city is ruined and will probably move away from the area.
