An ex-Ohio State football player is facing two counts of felonious assault and two counts of attempted murder for shooting two Columbus police officers during a drug bust Wednesday night.

38-year-old Derrick Foster is accused of shooting 48-year-old John Gillis and 44-year-old Anthony Garrison.

Both officers were last listed in stable condition at Grant Medical Center and officials say neither’s injuries were life-threatening.

The raid took place in the 1700 block of East Rich Street near Fairwood Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Foster was a defensive end for the Buckeyes from 1989 to 1992.
