A major upset in the Muskingum County primary election. Doug Davis ousts incumbent county engineer Loren Camp in the Republican primary. Davis is currently unopposed for the general election.
Brian Hill received the nod for fellow Republicans for Muskingum County Commissioner. Hill faces Democrat Jerry Lavy in the general election. Ed Kenily, the current Muskingum County Commissioner, is not seeking reelection.
Zanesville City Schools renewal levy passed easily. The levy received 65% support of the residents of Zanesville and carried 25 of 28 precincts. Two other issues on the ballot, a tax levy for Philo Village and an income tax for South Zanesville, went down to defeat.
